Missionary
In the Gifted Leadership Journey (GLJ), the initial goal was to utilize stories of fulfillment from each priest’s life in combination with assessments:
- To provide executive level coaching;
- To explore, unlock, and steward God-given gifts and missional callings;
- To support priests in increasing their awareness of–and personally tending to–their own intrinsic needs related to their gifts.
The call to priests was to answer the question, “Why does Jesus want me to be his priest?” Many were intrigued and participated, and the results have been powerful and personal.
Priests entered this executive coaching experience at every stage of their priesthood, from transitional deacon to very experienced.
This coaching helped them overcome burnout, solve challenges, and identify their own leadership style – a path to helping them out of any sense of isolation – which all too often defines their lives. They reported growing in confidence and capabilities, as well as in the ability to harness their God-given talents–and what moves them–and thereby step more fully into their uniquely-anointed and purposed callings.
And as they shared their excitement and their experiences, demand grew.
After two years, requests for the GLJ program outpaced our capacity to provide coaching from within the diocese, so we partnered with The Communion of Catholic Coaches (CCC), a vibrant organization dedicated to helping its members grow in holiness and professional excellence. Their superb Executive Coaches took on the bulk of the assignments in 2025, bringing professionalism, Catholic values, and world-class coaching skills to this critical work with our GLJ priests. The results have far-exceeded our expectations.
We are deeply grateful to the CCC and highly recommend them as partners to dioceses, ministries, or mission-driven organizations seeking to generate powerful and positive growth for their leaders.

Camden Diocese
In all my years as a priest in the Camden Diocese, I have never seen anything do as much good as the coaching has, for our priests.
As a former diocesan administrator, I worked closely with our priests and recognized the need to invest in them in order to deepen their spiritual and ministerial skills. Providing our priests with opportunities to experience Executive Coaching through The Communion of Catholic Coaches has been a blessing to them and to our diocese. Developing a keener understanding of themselves and what motivates them has given them greater confidence and is making a difference in their ministry.
Along with Donna Ottaviano-Britt, who coordinates this work for our priests, I have witnessed the Holy Spirit very much at work in our local Church. What a blessing this coaching continues to be.

Clergy & Leadership Testimonials
- Coaching matters to me as a priest because it helps to give me a good sounding board and way to get advice when dealing with leadership issues. Most importantly, it helps me to see my own strengths and how I would be able to best use them, not only for myself, but for the good of my assignments.
